Our story

Only the products that successfully make it through testing, make it to our shelves.

Kortlist is not a shop that carries everything. We test a broad set of products per category, evaluate them methodically, and put only the best on the shelf, measured against its price range. What we reject goes into the test archive, with reasons. That keeps the range small and the selection verifiable.

Curiosity accelerates the problem. The instinct is to research: find a product that looks right, track it down, order it, wait. Then unwrap something that technically functions but lands flat. That sequence, repeated across enough products and enough categories, stops reading as bad luck. It starts reading as structure: advertising built to convert, products built to sell once, not to hold up.

That irritation had a direct application. Before anything reaches the shelf, a wider field gets evaluated. Products that looked right, arrived with promise, and either earned their place or didn't. Most don't. What does carries a specific quality: a measurable gain in efficiency, health, daily pleasure, or the kind of precision that makes something reliable for years. Verdicts go into the archive, positive and negative alike. By the time a product is available to buy, the research has already been done. The disappointments have already been absorbed. What remains is a clear account of what a product does, where it falls short, and for whom it makes sense. The judgment call stays with the customer.

Our vision

We take the struggle, time, and effort out of finding a product that lives up to expectations.

Our test record and our sales catalogue overlap, but are not the same. When a product does not clear our bar, we do not carry it. But we document it. A verdict that diverges from what is on the shelf is not a flaw. It is proof that assessment and buying are kept separate.

We earn nothing through affiliate links or sponsored placements. Revenue comes exclusively from direct sales. No brand pays for a mention. The job is to inform. What you do with that information is yours to decide.

Our mission

The only products on our shelves are the ones most likely to satisfy.

For every category we cover, we buy a broader set of products than we carry. Not waste: the method. You cannot name a winner without knowing the field. We test broadly, choose narrowly, and write down why. What goes on the shelf stays in stock. Every order leaves by hand.

The things we carry share one quality: each of them makes your life better in a specific, observable way. More pleasurable to use, more reliable than the alternative, lasting long enough to become familiar. For the person choosing a gift without knowing where to start, and for the person who simply wants to understand why something is worth owning: something you might come to love.
